Uniek, Inc Awarded 2008-2009 Package Design Award

Uniek, Inc. was selected from more than 1200 entries as a winner of Graphic Design USA’s "American Package Design Award" in the Environment Graphics category. GDUSA states "this award recognizes that in this era of challenge and change, effective packaging, p-o-p and instore graphics are increasingly the difference makers in the success of a brand, campaign, a product."

Uniek entered a direct mail piece introducing their new sustainable photo frame line, Renewal™. to retail buyers. The box was made of biodegradable box material, and die-cut into a leaf shape to bring the "green" theme to life. Only soy inks were used in the printing of the piece. Mailed with no outer packaging, the item was made to conserve materials, and utilized only items that were extremely sustainable.

Inside the package, a full-color brochure was printed on seeded wildflower paper that could be planted by the recipient. Finally, Uniek included a frame sample of their new Renewal™ line, made from more than 90% recycled content.
